Thomas Wunsch has been working exclusively as an artistic photographer since the year 2000 taking abstract photographs. These works have been described as "images that leave a lot of room for interpretation, forming a world of their own. If you engage with these images, you enter a realm of the vague where everything loses its identity; a place close to nothing. The blurred contours and the lack of a frame of reference play with the highly contrasted lighting that work to draw viewers into an area that can no longer be grasped or defined.”

Since 2015 Thomas Wunsch has been working on an extension of these abstract photographs. The new series of images rely on Wunsch’s ability to abstract an environment for the viewer, but creates new mystery in adding tangible fragments of letters and/or numbers.
